BY-LAW CONSULTING SERVICES FOR 2010 WINTER GAMES

The City of Vancouver has passed the 2010 Winter Games By-Law to facilitate and expedite the building permit review and approval process for temporary buildings, special event facilities, or occupancies within existing buildings related to the 2010 Winter Games. The process requires the services of a By-Law consultant who will assist in the coordination, review and submission of a building permit, field review during construction and assistance with occupancy approvals. The City requires that these By-Law consulting services be provided by a registered Certified Professional.
CFT Engineering Inc currently provides Certified Professional (CP) and By-Law consulting services in the City of Vancouver. As the designated CP for your project, CFT Engineering would provide most of the building plan review and building inspection services that would otherwise be provided by City staff, thereby expediting the process and providing a consistent approach throughout the project.
We would be pleased to assist your project team to expedite the building permit application process and work with City staff to issue permits in a timely manner. CFT Engineering will also provide field review during construction and with your project team, complete the project in a timely and efficient manner. At the completion of the project we will coordinate review by City staff and make recommendations for occupancy. CFT Engineering is currently providing Certified Professional and By-Law consulting services for building permit applications which fall under the 2010 Winter Games By-Law.
CFT Engineering’s staff of Certified Professionals will function as By-Law Consultants to help ensure a timely review and application process to obtaining a Building Permit for Olympic related structures or facilities. CFT Engineering will address issues related to the project with respect to Vancouver Fire By-Law, the 2010 Winter Games By-Law as well as Part 3 of the Vancouver Building By-Law 2007 as they apply to your project.
